NORBA Trail day

The Northshore Off-Road Bicycling Association (NORBA), a local Chapter of International Mountain Biking Association (a 501c3 organization), is hosting a Mega Trail Building event on December 1st, 2018 at Bogue Chitto State Park near Franklinton LA.

We are calling on volunteers to join us for 4 hours of supervised trail building from 9am-1pm.  Following that, our volunteers will be treated to free camping, food, drinks and live entertainment overlooking the Bogue Chitto River.  Tools, water, lunch, dinner and snacks will be provided on the day of the build.  Scouts should bring an enthusiastic attitude, a water bottle (or hydration pack), comfortable hiking shoes, and gloves.  Volunteers are also welcome to enjoy the many amenities the park offers including canoeing, kayaking, hiking, disc golf, horseback riding (reservations required) and hot showers.

For those who haven't heard about this project, NORBA is partnering with the Louisiana Office of State Parks to build up to 15 miles of multi use trails.  Phase 1 of the project, roughly the first 5 miles, will be built entirely by volunteers.  This project will provide countless service hours and Eagle Scout projects for those who get involved.

We will meet at the Horse Trailer parking with registration starting at 7:00am.
