Scout Parents:

We look forward to seeing you at our next {Pack Meeting/Campout/ETC} on {Date}.

In the meantime, we wanted to share with you a notice from National Boy Scouts of America.  The national membership fee, which is currently $40, will be increasing next month. Our {Pack/Troop/Crew} collects this fee as a part of our annual fee which is {$unit fee}.

The National BSA fee pays for program curriculum and safety standards, leader training, Youth Protection resources and leader criminal background checks, technology upgrades and insurance coverage. Costs continue to increase at a substantial rate for insurance coverage, so unfortunately the National BSA membership fee will be increasing.  We will be notified of this amount by the end of the month.  At that time, we will let you know of the additional amount due.

We understand that the timing of this is unfortunate but hope that you agree that the character development and leadership training that Scouting provides cannot be found elsewhere and even with this increase, Scouting remains reasonably priced in comparison to other youth activities.

Thank you.
