2017 Coporate Pinewood Derby

 

Fundraising event supporting Scouting throughout the Istrouma Area Council

 

The big event is just right around the corner and the excitement is brewing! The Istrouma Area Council, Boy Scouts of America will host its 3rd Annual Race to Scouting, Corporate Race and Business Afterhours, on November 16, 2017 at 6:00 pm at Gerry Lane Chevrolet, 6505 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70806. This event is for adults who wants to relive their childhood and race a Pinewood Derby car. Participants design, carve, sand and paint their own Pinewood Derby race car. Each car can feature the logos and symbols of the sponsoring company. Official Boy Scout Pinewood Derby rules and regulations apply. Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place finishers and Best in Show. This one of a kind event is for adults only. Heavy hors d’oeuvres & beverages will be served.

Schedule

  • 6:00 pm                           Pit crew area opens - food and beverage available
  • 6:30 - 7:00 pm             Check In/Weigh In
  • 7:15 pm                           Racing begins


All proceeds from the event support delivery of the Scouting program to youth throughout the Istrouma Area Council. The event is open to the public. Istrouma Area Council

The Boy Scouts of America incorporated in 1910 and was chartered by Congress in 1916. Since 1917, the Istrouma Area Council, Boy Scouts of America has delivered high-quality programs of traditional and at-risk youth Scouting programs to its service area consisting of thirteen Parishes in Louisiana: Ascension, East and West Baton Rouge, East and West Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, St. James, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Washington as well as Wilkinson County, Mississippi. The Istrouma Area Council is the largest Boy Scout council in Louisiana.
