Avondale Society
The Avondale Society is a group of dedicated people who are interested in the preservation and continual improvement of the Avondale Scout Reservation.
Avondale Scout Reservation is over 1600 acres of beautiful lakes, fields, trails, and woodlands. It is one of the primary assets provided by the Istrouma Area Council for Scouts and Scouting. The first 1200 acres was purchased from the Pipes family on June 14, 1957. The Reservation has five separate camping areas with over 70 campsites and over 70 separate structures. ASR continually requires maintenance and improvements. Two full-time Rangers are employed by the Istrouma Area Council and are dedicated to maintaining and improving the facilities and programs of the ASR. The Istrouma Area Council relies on financial and other contributions from friends and volunteers to keep ASR available for youth and families of Louisiana. We welcome your questions as well as your contributions for the good of Scouting in the Istrouma Area Council.
Our Sincerest Thanks,
The ASR Staff
