2018 CC Merit Badge Day
CC Merit Badge Day will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Fellowship Church, 14363 Highway 73, Prairieville, LA. Check-in will be located at the middle entrance of the church as you enter from the left side.
The merit badge event is open to all registered Boy Scouts. Come out and have a day of enjoyment while working on merit badges. All merit badges are provided in 4 hour blocks, so each Scout can to take up to two merit badges classes.
Youth Protection Training for adult leaders will be held in the afternoon as a single session. The District will not be offering Cub Scout or Boy Scout Leader Specific Training.
Check-in will be from 7:00 to 7:45 a.m. Classes will begin at 8:00 a.m. Lunch will
be from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. All classes will be finished by 5 PM.
LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED FOR ALL SCOUTS AND ADULTS WHO REGISTER FOR THE EVENT. There are no vending machines available, so please feel free to bring snacks. In true Boy Scout Leader fashion, coffee will be available throughout the event.
Online registration fees, if paid by Wednesday, August 22:
Scouts: $ 20
Adults $ 5
At the door registration fees:
Scouts $ 30
Adults $ 10
Only cash or checks (made to BSA - IAC) will be accepted at day of registration.
Since some merit badges will be more popular, it will be on a first-paid, first-served basis. There are some prerequisites for several of the merit badges. Additionally, some of the merit badges cannot be completed at Merit Badge Day. If anyone requires special accommodation (seating, enlarged print on handouts, etc.), please note that on the registration form.
Scouts are required to bring the merit badge book to class. Please note any additional information listed for some of the merit badges. Worksheets are available for use with the merit badges. Scouts can go to the website www.meritbadge.org and print the worksheet(s) for the merit badge(s) they are taking and bring them to class.
Field uniform is encouraged, but Scouts engaged in outdoor activities can wear either a Field Uniform or Activity Uniform as they see fit for their merit badges.
Scouts are also required to bring a copy of their current BSA medical form with them.
PARENTS/ADULT LEADERS — We are looking for help monitoring the facility to make sure the Scouts are where they are supposed to be. If you are able to help with this task, please contact the CC Merit Badge Day Coordinator Scott Downie at 504-343-7268.
The merit badges being offered are listed in this packet. A maximum class size of 15 Scouts may be imposed if necessary to facilitate completion of a merit badge. No class size limit will be placed on the Adult Leader Youth Protection Training class.
