Wilderness First Aid
Sign up for Wilderness First Aid scheduled for March 11-13. This course is based on the Boy Scouts of America’s 16-hour Wilderness First Aid Curriculum, Area Council Educational Center and is supported by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American College of Emergency Room Physicians, and the Wilderness Medical Society. The course meets BSA’s Health & Safety requirements for participating in high-adventure activities.
Course prerequisites: Minimum age of 14 years; current certification in an adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) course; completion of automatic external defibrillator (AED) training. Copy of course completion must be submitted with the registration application or emailed to Will Freeman prior to the course.
Course Dates & Time: Saturday & Sunday, March 11, 2023 thru March 12, 2023; 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, daily. Scenarios will be held on Sunday following the last first aid presentation.
Cost: $95.00 per person includes Wilderness First Aid Guide, snacks, lunches, and overnight camping for those needing accommodations. There is no meal served Saturday night.
Pre-registration is required. The course is limited to 48 participants with a minimum of 32. Registration must be received by Friday, March 3, 2023. There is a late fee of $20 per person if registered after February 24, 2023.
